AP Municipalities Get ₹7,469 Crore for Major Infrastructure Development

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a major infrastructure development project worth ₹7,469.46 crore for 123 municipalities and municipal corporations across the state. The funds will be used for roads, drainage systems, parks, streetlights and road median beautification, with the aim of improving basic amenities and transforming urban areas.

As part of the project, 4,388 km of roads will be constructed or improved at a cost of ₹4,655.82 crore. Another ₹509.12 crore has been allocated for roads integrated with drainage systems to address waterlogging and sewage issues. The government will also develop 541 new parks with ₹247.28 crore, install 20,340 streetlights at a cost of ₹87.78 crore and beautify 1,186 km of road medians. The projects are expected to significantly improve urban connectivity, greenery, public safety and overall infrastructure.
