AP Moves Ahead with Liquor Shop Allotment

The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated the next phase of the Excise Policy 2026-27 by issuing a notification for the fresh allotment of 807 liquor shops. Of the 3,650 A4 liquor shops notified for renewal, 3,236 were renewed by existing licence holders. The remaining shops, along with previously unallotted outlets, are now being brought under the fresh allotment process.

Applications for the 807 shops will be accepted until midnight on October 1, following the Gazette notification issued on September 24. The applications will be scrutinised on October 3, after which eligible applicants will be selected through a transparent lottery process. The 2026-27 Excise Policy will be in force from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
