AP High Court Slams Guntur Police Over Negligence

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has expressed serious anger over the alleged negligence of Guntur police in tracing a Class 10 girl who has been missing for three months. The court questioned why the police had failed to trace her despite the availability of modern technology. It also expressed strong displeasure over allegations that an Information Commissioner was prevented from intervening in the matter.

The girl’s father approached the High Court by filing a habeas corpus petition after her whereabouts remained unknown for three months. During the hearing, the court directed the state DGP to ensure that the girl is produced before the court by tomorrow. The court also made strong observations about the police handling of the case, stating that such conduct was a matter of shame for the government.
