AP Government Issues Notification for Crop Insurance Implementation

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued a notification for the implementation of crop insurance schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for Kharif 2026 and Rabi 2026–27 seasons. The announcement was made 40 days after the beginning of the season, with an aim to protect farmers from crop losses.

The government also announced the implementation of weather-based crop insurance schemes. New insurance companies will be given opportunities to replace firms that have not participated in the Fasal Bima scheme. Official orders have been issued regarding the implementation process.
