The Andhra Pradesh government is set to suspend transfers and promotions of government employees until December 2 following the implementation of the election code in the state. The restrictions are intended to ensure that administrative decisions do not violate election-related rules while the code remains in force. Government departments will be expected to comply with the instructions during this period.
According to the information provided, State Election Commission (SEC) official Punetha has written to the Chief Secretary, requesting that directions be issued to all departments regarding the restrictions. Transfers or promotions may be considered in exceptional and urgent circumstances, but only after obtaining special permission from the Election Commission. The move is aimed at ensuring compliance with the election code until the stipulated date.
