The Andhra Pradesh government has changed the Bakrid holiday date observed by the Muslim community with religious devotion. Instead of the previously announced May 27 holiday, the government clarified that the official holiday for Bakrid will now be observed on May 28. Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad issued official orders regarding the change on Thursday.
The change was made following a request from the AP State Wakf Board after the festival date was revised based on moon sighting. After reviewing the request, the government decided to shift the holiday to May 28. The revised holiday will apply to all government offices and educational institutions across the state.
