Another International Standard Hospital Coming Up in AP

AIG Hospitals is set to establish a major international standard healthcare facility in Visakhapatnam. Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the hospital in the Endada area on Monday. Once operational, the facility is expected to provide advanced medical services within Andhra Pradesh, reducing the need for patients to travel to Hyderabad for specialised treatment.

AIG Hospitals plans to invest around Rs.2,000 crore in phases over five years, creating nearly 9,000 employment opportunities. The hospital will eventually have a capacity of 1,000 beds and is being designed to handle around 5,000 outpatient consultations a day. The campus will be spread across nine acres, with another 2.5 acres earmarked for a nursing college. The first phase, comprising Towers A and B with 650 beds, is targeted for completion by October 2028, followed by Tower C with another 350 beds.

The campus will offer a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem covering treatment, training and research, along with facilities for patients and their attendants. It will include more than 50 medical specialties across eight Centres of Excellence, a dedicated mother and child unit, nursing college and hostel, a paramedical training centre, a 500 seat auditorium, a research laboratory and an AI centre. Once fully operational, around 1,000 doctors are expected to work at the facility. AIG Hospitals has more than three decades of experience in healthcare and currently operates three units in Hyderabad with over 1,400 beds, including more than 350 ICU beds, and more than 600 doctors and healthcare professionals.
