The traditional Ankurarpanam ceremony for the Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams was performed at Tirumala on Sunday in accordance with religious customs. The grand celebrations are scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 20. The ritual marks the formal commencement of preparations for the annual festivities at the sacred hill shrine.
Before the ceremony, Senadhipathi Vishwaksena was taken in a procession along the temple’s Mada Streets to inspect the arrangements for the Brahmotsavams. The Ankurarpanam ritual was subsequently conducted in accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama traditions. The celebrations are expected to draw devotees to Tirumala to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
