Andhra Pradesh Urban Local Body Elections: Nominations Begin

The nomination process for urban local body elections in Andhra Pradesh has commenced. Candidates can file their nominations from 11 AM, and the last date for submission is October 18. The elections will cover 100 urban local bodies across the state, comprising 13 municipal corporations, 77 municipalities and 10 nagar panchayats. A total of 5,485 centres have been established across Andhra Pradesh to receive nominations.

The schedule provides for scrutiny of nominations on October 19, while October 21 is the final date for withdrawal. Polling is scheduled for October 28. If necessary, repolling will be conducted on October 29, followed by vote counting and declaration of results on October 30. Candidates and political parties are expected to focus on the nomination and scrutiny stages as the election process moves forward.
