Andhra Pradesh Reports 19 COVID-19 Cases

Andhra Pradesh has reported a fresh rise in COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of active infections in the state to 19. YSR Kadapa district accounts for the highest number with eight cases, while Guntur and Kakinada have reported two cases each. Single cases have also been detected in Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Nellore and NTR districts, according to health officials.

Medical authorities confirmed that the latest infections include the Omicron RF.5 variant. Experts said the variant is currently associated with mild symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever and fatigue, and does not pose a major health threat at present. The Health Department also noted that RF.5 cases have been reported in Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries, while urging the public to remain vigilant and follow basic health precautions.
