The Andhra Pradesh government has taken an important step towards the welfare and empowerment of the transgender community. The government issued a fresh Government Order (GO) appointing members to the Transgender Welfare Board as part of its efforts to strengthen support systems and welfare initiatives for transgender persons across the state.
The appointments were made based on recommendations from district collectors and district magistrates. The government also nominated the Collectors of Visakhapatnam and Tirupati as regional representatives to coordinate and oversee welfare activities related to the transgender community in their respective regions.
