

Anbalagan was sworn in as the Protem Speaker of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly. The oath was administered by Lieutenant Governor Kailashnathan at Loknivas on Monday. Following the ceremony, Anbalagan visited the Speaker’s chamber in the Assembly and sought the blessings of Chief Minister Rangasamy before taking his seat.
He informed reporters that the first session of the 16th Legislative Assembly will be held on the 20th at 9:30 AM to administer the oath to all elected MLAs. He also stated that the resignation letter of the Chief Minister from Tattanchavady constituency has been received and will be forwarded to the Election Commission. The oath-taking ceremony will be broadcast live, with LED screens installed in major public locations for citizens to witness the proceedings.
Ministers Namassivayam, Malladi Krishna Rao, Selva Ganapathy, along with members from N.R. Congress, BJP, LJK, DMK, Neya Makkal Katchi, and independent MLAs attended the event. Congress MLAs were absent from the ceremony.
