Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Bastar in Chhattisgarh and announced several key initiatives aimed at transforming Maoist-affected regions into development hubs. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maoist influence has significantly declined, and the government is now focusing on long-term development and welfare measures in the region.
Amit Shah revealed that around 70 security camps in Bastar will gradually be converted into service centres to provide essential facilities to local communities. He also said that a Gujarat-style development model would be implemented in Bastar, with special emphasis on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and sports. The Centre plans to encourage Olympic-level sports talent from the region and create new opportunities for tribal youth.
