The Amarnath and Vaishno Devi pilgrimages have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure following a heavy rainfall warning in Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have stopped allowing devotees through the Pahalgam and Baltal routes from today, and pilgrims have been restricted to base camps until weather conditions improve.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir from today until July 23. In view of the adverse weather conditions, the authorities have also suspended Vaishno Devi darshan services temporarily to ensure the safety of devotees.
