AI Robot to Ensure Devotee Safety on Alipiri Footpath

TTD is giving top priority to the safety of devotees walking to Tirumala for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara. With leopard attacks having occurred on the Alipiri footpath in the past and wildlife movement reportedly increasing in recent times, plans are being prepared to strengthen security using advanced technology. Emergency Response Teams are proposed near the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at the seventh mile to continuously monitor wildlife movement and respond swiftly to any emergency. The teams will coordinate with TTD, the Forest Department, Vigilance, Engineering and Health departments.

As part of the advanced security plan, an AI-powered robot equipped with an optical camera, thermal imaging camera, 360-degree LiDAR and multiple sensors is expected to monitor the forest areas. The system can detect wildlife movement even in darkness and fog and use AI to identify and classify large animals, humans, vehicles and cattle. It can send geo-tagged alerts along with live video and thermal feeds to the control room and patrolling staff. If wild animals approach areas frequented by devotees, the robot can use sound and light units to guide them back towards the forest without physical contact.
