The camp received an encouraging response, with police officers, personnel and residents from various villages coming forward to donate blood. Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan inaugurated the programme by donating blood himself. Certificates were subsequently presented to those who participated in the donation drive.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Akhil Mahajan urged everyone aged 18 and above who is medically eligible to donate blood and advised people not to believe misconceptions about blood donation. He explained that the camp was organised under the police department’s initiative after receiving information that blood stocks at the RIMS Blood Bank were running low.
