The Aam Aadmi Party achieved a historic victory in the Gujarat local body elections by winning the Narmada District Panchayat. The party secured 15 out of 22 seats and also gained control of 12 taluka panchayats. Following the victory, Arvind Kejriwal participated in a celebratory roadshow in Rajpipla.
The success was largely credited to prominent tribal leader and AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, who played a key role in the campaign. This marks the first time in Gujarat’s history that a third party has broken the long-standing BJP-Congress dominance to form a district-level local government.
