Aadhaar Biometric Update: Free Service for Children Available Until September 30

UIDAI has provided a fee waiver for mandatory biometric updates for children in the 5–17 age group. Children who received a Bal Aadhaar without fingerprints and iris scans are required to update their photograph and biometric details after turning five, with another biometric update required at the age of 15. As per the provided information, the current fee-free facility is available until September 30, 2026.

Parents can take their children to a nearby Aadhaar enrolment centre or Common Service Centre (CSC) to complete the update. The information states that special camps have already been organised in more than 1.56 lakh schools, where biometric updates for over two crore children have reportedly been completed. Parents are advised to complete the process before the deadline to avoid paying the applicable fee later.
