

Nearly a year after the tragic Air India Flight AI 171 crash on June 12, 2025, the pain of the victims’ families remains fresh. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which took off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport bound for London, crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel building shortly after takeoff. Of the 242 people on board, 241 lost their lives, while 19 people on the ground were also killed, taking the total death toll to 260.
Although months have passed since the disaster, many families are still struggling to cope with the emotional trauma. Some relatives experience intense fear while traveling by air, while others are undergoing professional counseling to overcome anxiety and psychological distress. Survivors, witnesses, and family members continue to battle painful memories, highlighting the long-lasting impact of one of India's deadliest aviation tragedies.
