A Blend of Chinese-American Flavours.. Trump Hosts Special Dinner for Xi Jinping

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted a state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the East Room of the White House during his US visit. The special menu combined American ingredients with subtle Chinese influences. It included yellow squash velouté, wild mushroom fricassée, crispy pancetta, sesame-crusted sea bass, baby bok choy and roasted garden eggplant. Desserts included vanilla cremeux, sour cherry confit, walnut frangipane and ice cream made with White House honey.

During the dinner, Trump presented Xi Jinping with a statue of the bald eagle, the national symbol of the United States. The approximately three-foot-tall statue was displayed before the guests. Trump later showed Xi the ballroom currently under construction at the White House. The dinner was attended by several prominent technology and business leaders, including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Jensen Huang, Sam Altman, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg and Satya Nadella.
