

A 94-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh's Bapatla district has won hearts with her deep love for her motherland by applying for Indian citizenship. Mahalakshmamma, who acquired United States citizenship in 2000, has now expressed her wish to spend the rest of her life in India. She said her greatest desire is to breathe her last in her native land and have her final rites performed in her hometown.
Mahalakshmamma appealed to the district administration to expedite her citizenship application. "Even if I die, I want it to be on my own soil," she said emotionally while requesting Indian citizenship. Her heartfelt words and unwavering patriotism have touched thousands, and the video of her appeal has gone viral on social media, drawing admiration from people across the country.
