A Sessions Court in Maharashtra's Washim district has delivered a significant verdict in a custodial death case, sentencing nine police personnel to life imprisonment. The judgment comes after nearly 15 years of legal proceedings and a detailed examination of the evidence presented before the court.
The court concluded that the victim died due to custodial torture and held all nine accused police personnel guilty. The convicted officers include the then police station in-charge. The verdict is being viewed as an important judicial decision in cases involving custodial deaths and police accountability.
