Land recovered from gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is set to be used for a housing project aimed at providing homes to economically disadvantaged families. Under the Padamlok Apartment project, 602 flats are planned as part of the Kasari-Masari housing scheme in the Chakia area. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to perform the ground-breaking ceremony on October 15, marking a key step towards the proposed development.
The project is intended to turn the recovered land into a public asset by providing housing for families in need. However, the government has not yet clarified the eligibility criteria for selecting beneficiaries or explained how the flats will be allotted. Further details regarding the selection process and implementation are awaited. The initiative reflects the state government's efforts to put land recovered from alleged illegal possession to public use and address housing needs among disadvantaged sections of society.
