4.2-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Western Nepal

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal's Bajang district in the western part of the country early on Wednesday, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre. The tremor occurred at around 4:40 a.m. local time, causing mild vibrations in the surrounding areas. Authorities confirmed that there were no reports of casualties or damage to property.

The latest quake comes just a week after a 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Rukum East district in Lumbini Province. Officials said that no significant damage or injuries were reported in either incident. Nepal frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location along the active Himalayan seismic belt, prompting authorities to maintain continuous monitoring of seismic activity.
