Mobile users who do not require internet services may soon have access to voice and SMS-only recharge plans. The proposed plans are expected to be offered with 7, 28, 56, and 84-day validity, allowing customers to choose a recharge based on their usage requirements. The move is aimed at providing affordable options for subscribers who primarily use their phones for calls and text messages.
The new plans are expected to reduce recharge expenses by 50% to 70%, making them particularly beneficial for feature phone users and senior citizens. Industry observers believe the initiative will offer greater flexibility in plan selection and ensure that customers pay only for the services they actually use.
