Alexander Wang, who became a billionaire at a very young age, has risen to a position of major responsibility in a technology giant like Meta. At just 28 years old, he currently serves as Meta’s Chief AI Officer and recently made some noteworthy remarks aimed at children and young people. He expressed the view that a 13-year-old who practices “vibe coding” using AI tools could become the next Bill Gates. He advised teenagers, especially those around the age of 13, to dedicate their time entirely to vibe coding and make it a core part of their lives, stating that this would provide a significant advantage in the future job market.
Vibe coding is a new and emerging technology trend that operates using natural language with the support of AI tools. Traditional coding typically requires strong expertise in programming languages, whereas vibe coding does not. Writing a simple prompt in plain English is sufficient, as AI tools convert these instructions into functional code. Through this approach, users can independently create applications on platforms such as Replit and Cursor. In simple terms, users only need to describe what they want, and AI tools build it for them. This method does not require deep technical expertise.
Wang noted that leading figures in the technology world today, such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, also rose to prominence by experimenting with new technologies at a young age. He explained that early exposure to first-generation computers gave them a significant advantage, which eventually helped them become billionaires. According to Wang, a similar pattern is unfolding in the AI era. Those who actively experiment with AI tools will gain a major edge in the future, and such individuals are likely to emerge as the next generation of tech leaders. He therefore encouraged young people to focus more on vibe coding rather than hobbies such as gaming and sports, predicting that AI will fundamentally transform the nature of products and services in the coming years.
Alexander Wang founded the startup Scale AI at the age of 19 and became a billionaire by 24, setting a record. By 28, he assumed top responsibilities at Meta AI. He currently serves as Meta’s Chief AI Officer and leads the company’s Superintelligence Labs. He is also reported to be the highest-paid executive at Meta. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has also shared his views on “vibe coding.” He noted that even individuals without an engineering background are now able to build applications based on their needs using vibe coding, making software development significantly easier. Drawing a parallel with the early days of the internet when writers were able to turn blogging into a career Pichai said vibe coding is similarly creating new job opportunities today. He added that such technologies are likely to evolve further in the future and expressed his curiosity about how people will ultimately use them.
