A significant chapter in India’s economic history is about to be written with the presentation of Union Budget 2026 on February 1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget in the Lok Sabha at 11 AM. This marks the first time in independent India that the budget will be presented on a Sunday. All key preparations for the budget have already been completed. Although the Economic Survey will not be released on January 29, analysts expect its insights to influence major policies and allocations in the budget.
The budget is also expected to have an immediate impact on the stock markets. Usually closed on Sundays, the BSE and NSE will conduct trading on February 1. Market operations will continue as usual from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, with no restrictions for investors. Experts say announcements on taxation, infrastructure, and capital markets will determine market trends. This budget day is expected to be crucial not just politically but economically as well, highlighting India’s financial priorities
