

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued more than 150 notices to food companies over violations including misleading advertisements, non-compliant labelling and incorrect information about food products. Major companies that received notices include Nestlé India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Abbott India, Mondelez India, Ferrero India, Danone India and Kenvue. Energy drink makers Red Bull India, Monster Energy and Hell Energy, along with alcoholic beverage companies Diageo and Pernod Ricard, were also issued notices.
FSSAI also issued 12 notices to e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart. An Amazon warehouse licence was completely cancelled for regulatory violations. More than 30 notices were issued to fast-food and restaurant chains including KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Costa Coffee. FSSAI also cancelled five Domino’s licences over violations of food safety regulations.
