A Singapore court has sentenced Byju Raveendran to six months in prison for contempt of court after he allegedly failed to comply with legal orders issued in April 2024. The orders required him to disclose assets and submit ownership documents related to Beeaar Investco.
The court also directed him to surrender to authorities and imposed a fine of approximately S$90,000. The case is linked to ongoing disputes with international investors, including the Qatar Investment Authority, following the financial collapse of Byju's. The company maintains that discussions are underway for a broader settlement with lenders.
