

Gold and silver prices are soaring due to the weakening rupee and global market developments. For the first time, pure gold (24-carat) has crossed the ₹1,40,000 mark. In just one week, gold prices have increased by nearly ₹4,000. Bullion market experts say that with international gold prices rising sharply, domestic rates are also climbing and are likely to increase further in the coming days.
As of Wednesday morning (December 24, 2025), domestic rates for gold and silver are as follows:
24-carat gold (10 grams): ₹1,38,930, up ₹380.
22-carat gold (10 grams): ₹1,27,350, up ₹350.
Silver (per kg): ₹2,33,000, up ₹10,000.
