Rising Demand Drives Growth in Electric Two-Wheeler Sales

According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations, the demand for electric two-wheelers in India is increasing rapidly. More people are now choosing electric vehicles as a cleaner and cost-effective option. In March 2026, the market share of electric two-wheelers reached 9.79 percent, showing a clear rise in popularity.

In terms of sales, around 1,91,067 units were sold in March 2026 alone. This shows strong growth when compared to the same period last year. The steady increase reflects changing consumer preferences and growing awareness about electric mobility.

For the full financial year 2026, total electric two-wheeler sales reached 14,01,818 units, marking a 21.81 percent annual growth. This trend clearly indicates that electric vehicles are becoming an important part of India’s future transportation.
