Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for an Integrated Industrial Smart City in Zaheerabad on May 10, marking a major boost to industrial growth in Telangana. The project, part of the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor, is estimated to cost ₹2,360.54 crore and will be developed over 3,245 acres with world-class infrastructure. Officials expect investments of over ₹10,000 crore, with employment opportunities for nearly 1.74 lakh people by 2029. Key sectors targeted include logistics, auto components, electrical and electronics, machinery, metals, and food processing.
The smart city will feature advanced infrastructure powered by modern technology, with a strong focus on sustainable and eco-friendly development. It will offer plug-and-play facilities, enabling industries to commence operations quickly. In addition to industrial zones, the project will include residential areas, commercial complexes, schools, and training centers, creating a self-sustained ecosystem. Strategically located along the Hyderabad–Nagpur corridor, the smart city is expected to emerge as a major hub for manufacturing and logistics, significantly contributing to Telangana’s economic growth.
