Ola’s Big Plan in the Energy Sector!

Ola Electric Mobility has stepped into the grid-scale energy storage sector by signing a strategic partnership with renewable energy firm Axis Energy. The agreement aims to establish battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 20 gigawatt-hours by 2032. As part of this initiative, Ola Electric will launch its ‘Ola Mahashakti’ BESS solutions on the 15th of this month, catering to commercial, industrial, and grid-level energy requirements. The company stated that this collaboration will unlock new growth opportunities in the rapidly expanding grid-scale battery storage segment.

Axis Energy is currently developing renewable energy projects integrated with energy storage solutions in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. Ravi Kumar Reddy Kattaru, Chairman and Managing Director of Axis Energy Ventures, emphasized that battery storage systems are crucial for ensuring uninterrupted power supply through the grid. Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, highlighted that the company is developing battery manufacturing and system engineering capabilities using fully indigenous technology.
