

Shares of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) hit several key milestones on their listing day. After the IPO closed on Monday, NSE shares were listed on the BSE on Thursday in accordance with SEBI regulations. The stock opened at ₹1,800, a 0.84% premium to the IPO price of ₹1,785. It touched an intraday high of ₹1,878 before settling at ₹1,818, up 1.85% on the first day of trading.
By the close of the first trading session, NSE’s market capitalisation stood at around ₹4.5 lakh crore. This placed NSE as the seventh-most valuable stock exchange in the world by market capitalisation and the 11th-most valuable listed company in India. BSE’s market capitalisation stood at around ₹1.3 lakh crore, making NSE’s valuation more than three times that of its rival exchange.
