National Quiz on New Tax Law Attracts Citizens..

The Income Tax Department has launched a nationwide Tax Quiz on the new Income Tax Act 2026, which has recently come into effect replacing the old 1961 law. The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the MyGov portal, aims to create awareness among citizens about the revised tax system, simplified procedures, and reduced compliance burden. The quiz is open to all citizens including students, professionals, businesspersons, and taxpayers, encouraging participation to improve financial literacy.

The competition began on March 20, 2026, and will continue until April 20, 2026. Participants will answer 10 questions in a single attempt with no negative marking. Winners will be selected based on performance, with the top 10 receiving ₹10,000 each, followed by 20 winners getting ₹5,000 each, and 50 participants receiving ₹3,000 each along with participation certificates. The results will be announced after the closing date, and prizes will be credited directly to the winners’ bank accounts.
