Mercedes-Benz India’s upcoming Electric GLC SUV has received an encouraging response ahead of its launch. The company began accepting expressions of interest on October 5 and received more than 650 registrations within just 36 hours. The electric SUV is scheduled to enter the Indian market on November 4. However, these expressions of interest do not constitute confirmed bookings.
The Electric GLC will be locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz India’s Chakan plant near Pune, Maharashtra. It will be the company’s first SUV in India featuring its next-generation electric vehicle technology. Initially, the GLC 400 4MATIC variant will be introduced, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-November. Customers can register their interest for subsequent batches through authorised dealerships and the company’s official website. Mercedes-Benz India will also provide updates on order status and estimated delivery timelines.
The international version of the Electric GLC 400 4MATIC comes with a 94 kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of up to 715 km on a single charge under WLTP testing standards. Its all-wheel-drive system enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds. The SUV supports DC fast charging of up to 330 kW, with the company claiming that a 10-minute charge can add around 300 km of range under suitable conditions. While the official price is yet to be announced, industry estimates place its expected ex-showroom price between ₹80 lakh and ₹90 lakh.
