Indian benchmark indices traded lower on Monday, weighed down by selling pressure in banking and IT stocks. The Nifty 50 and Sensex slipped in early trade as investors tracked movements in key heavyweight shares. At 9:26 a.m., the Sensex was down 394.38 points, or 0.53%, at 74,334.89, while the Nifty 50 declined 91.25 points, or 0.39%, to 23,054.90.
Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Infosys emerged as the top losers in the Nifty 50 index. The weakness in banking and IT stocks contributed to the decline in the benchmark indices. Market movements may change during the trading session as investors react to company specific developments and broader market cues.
