

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is set to transfer its 25.52% stake in Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts Limited to the GVK–Bhopal family. As part of this move, both companies have decided to convert their existing shareholder joint venture agreement into a long-term management contract.
Upon completion of the transaction, the GVK–Bhopal family will hold a 74.99% majority stake in Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts. Speaking on the development, Joint Managing Director Krishna Bhopal stated that over the past two decades, IHCL and the GVK–Bhopal family have jointly developed seven star-category hotels with over 1,500 rooms across India.
These properties, located in key cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Chandigarh, continue to play a significant role in the hospitality sector. The company is now aiming to expand its portfolio to 4,000 rooms over the next five years, he added. Highlighting the long-standing partnership, IHCL Managing Director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said the collaboration with the GVK–Bhopal family spans iconic properties ranging from Taj Krishna in Hyderabad to Taj Santacruz in Mumbai.
