The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) launched three new insurance plans on Tuesday: New Jeevan Dhara-2, Health Shield and New Cancer Cover. New Jeevan Dhara-2 is a non-participating, non-linked individual savings and deferred annuity plan designed to provide a guaranteed income after retirement. The Health Shield plan offers comprehensive coverage for the entire family, including a fixed daily cash benefit during hospitalisation and lump-sum payouts for major surgeries and critical illnesses, according to LIC.
The New Cancer Cover plan provides fixed financial benefits upon a cancer diagnosis, irrespective of the actual treatment expenses incurred by the insured person. LIC stated that the minimum basic sum assured ranges from ₹15 lakh to ₹35 lakh, depending on the age eligibility criteria. The maximum sum assured under the plan is ₹50 lakh, taking into account all existing policies held by the policyholder.
