Key Order for Bondada.. A Milestone in the Energy Sector

Hyderabad-based infrastructure company Bondada Engineering has secured a key project from NTPC Renewable Energy. The contract involves setting up a 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) Energy Storage System at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat. The project will be executed with technical support from Dielectric Systems and is scheduled to be completed within ten months. While the company has not disclosed the project value, it will also handle operations and maintenance for a period of ten years.

Company officials stated that VRFB technology is safer and has a longer lifespan of 25–30 years compared to conventional lithium batteries. They also highlighted that the use of domestically available vanadium minerals will reduce dependence on imports from China. The company expects its order book to grow from Rs. 10,000 crore last financial year to Rs. 15,000 crore by 2026–27. With a current battery storage capacity of 1.2 GWh, Bondada Engineering aims to generate 30% of its revenue from data centers and defense sectors by 2030.
