Indian Stock Markets End Lower

Indian equity markets closed lower on Thursday, with both benchmark indices ending the session in the red. The Sensex declined 570.59 points, or 0.79%, to close at 71,909.70, while the Nifty fell 198.50 points, or 0.88%, to settle at 22,421.95.

Welspun Living Ltd, Mphasis Ltd and Infosys Ltd featured among the top gainers during the session. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Sansera Engineering Ltd were among the stocks that recorded losses.
