Indian Stock Markets Close Lower After Flat Start

Domestic stock markets opened on a flat note on Monday but ended the trading session in the red. The BSE Sensex declined by 547.65 points, or 0.76%, to close at 71,924.68. The NSE Nifty also fell by 157.10 points, or 0.70%, settling at 22,363.35.

Gallantt Ispat Ltd, The New India Assurance Company Ltd and CarTrade Tech Ltd featured among the top gainers. Meanwhile, Birlasoft Ltd, Lenskart Solutions Ltd and Avenue Supermarts Ltd were among the stocks that recorded losses during the session.
