Hyderabad has emerged as the top city in the country for Swiggy Instamart orders, according to the company. The city also recorded the highest-value single order nationwide. Swiggy revealed that a Hyderabad-based user spent ₹4.3 lakh on a single order exclusively for purchasing iPhones. In addition, items such as milk, gold, smartphones, and condoms witnessed strong demand on the platform. To highlight how Indians are using quick-commerce platforms, Swiggy Instamart released its report titled “How India Instamarted – 2025.” The report analyzes ordering trends across the platform nationwide in 2025. It revealed that one user spent a total of ₹22 lakh during the year, with purchases including 22 iPhone-17 devices, 24-carat gold coins, an air fryer, along with daily essentials such as milk, ice creams, and fresh fruits. Through Instamart, four milk packets are ordered every second across India. The report estimates that the total quantity of milk ordered in 2025 would be sufficient to fill 26,000 Olympic-size swimming pools.
Swiggy stated that one out of every 127 orders placed on Instamart is for condoms. A Chennai-based user alone spent ₹1.06 lakh on condoms this year, placing a total of 228 orders for the product. On Valentine’s Day, Bengaluru set a record by placing 1,780 rose orders per minute. Overall, the platform recorded an average of 666 orders per minute on that day. However, the highest spending on roses came from Hyderabad, where a user spent ₹31,240 on roses in a single day, the report noted.
In Bengaluru, a user spent over ₹4.36 lakh on noodles, while a pet parent in Chennai spent ₹2.41 lakh on pet food and related products. In Mumbai, a user spent ₹15.6 lakh on gold. In another notable instance, a Bengaluru customer placed a single order worth ₹1.7 lakh for an iPhone along with 178 lime sodas, which stood out as an unusual purchase. The report also highlighted competitive generosity across cities in terms of tips. A Bengaluru-based user tipped ₹68,600, while a Chennai resident paid ₹59,505 as tips during the year.
