Hyderabad based deep tech startup BlueJay Aerospace has unveiled a new prototype cargo aircraft named “Gen 2”. The company said the aircraft is designed to transport goods across urban and rural areas within a range of up to 10 kilometers.
The battery powered aircraft can take off and land vertically while carrying cargo weighing up to 200 kilograms. BlueJay Aerospace stated that this is the first aircraft developed on its Vantis platform. The company said it spent four years researching and developing the aircraft.
BlueJay Aerospace plans to commercially launch the aircraft by 2027. The startup has already developed another eVTOL aircraft with a 500 kilogram carrying capacity and said it has been successfully tested on a pilot basis with public sector and defense organizations.
