The demand for induction stoves is witnessing a sharp rise across the country. Government-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is planning to invite fresh tenders for the supply of 5 lakh induction stoves in two phases. The surge in demand is largely attributed to disruptions in LPG supply due to tensions in West Asia, prompting consumers to shift towards electric cooking appliances.
EESL has recently completed the tender process for 1 lakh induction stoves and is now aiming to scale up supply to meet the growing demand. The decision follows feedback from state governments and consumers regarding the increased preference for induction-based cooking solutions. Officials stated that considering the strong market response, the organization is preparing to float new tenders for approximately 5 lakh units.
