HCLTech reported a consolidated net profit of ₹5,132 crore for the second quarter of the current financial year, ended September. This marks a 21.18% increase compared with the ₹4,235 crore recorded in the same period last year. Revenue from operations rose 11.5%, increasing from ₹31,942 crore to ₹35,620 crore. Higher margins from its rapidly growing advanced AI business and a lower tax burden contributed to the company’s performance.
The IT services company revised its revenue growth forecast for FY 2026–27, on a constant-currency basis, from 1–4% to 2.5–4%. CEO and Managing Director C. Vijayakumar attributed the improved outlook to strong bookings, promising deals and momentum in AI-led services. HCLTech also continued to focus on fresh talent, hiring 6,450 employees during the September quarter, including 6,136 freshers, compared with 1,056 freshers in the previous quarter. The fresher intake was also higher than the 5,196 employees hired in the second quarter of FY 2025–26.
The company’s last-twelve-month attrition rate edged up to 12.8% in the September quarter from 12.7% in the previous quarter. HCLTech plans to recruit around 10,000 freshers during the current financial year. Chief People Officer Ram Sundararajan said annual salary hikes would take effect from October. The company also announced a partnership with Anthropic and plans to establish a dedicated business unit to develop agentic AI solutions for enterprise clients using Claude.
