India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections reached ₹1.95 lakh crore in June 2026, registering a 14% increase compared to ₹1.71 lakh crore collected in June 2025. The government attributed the strong growth to higher tax collections from domestic sales and a significant rise in import-related GST revenue.
Gross GST collections from domestic transactions increased by 6.5% to ₹1.35 lakh crore, while GST revenue from imports surged 34.6% to ₹60,038 crore. Refunds rose to ₹32,436 crore, and after adjusting refunds, net GST collections stood at ₹1.62 lakh crore, reflecting an 11.2% year-on-year increase. During the April–June quarter of the current financial year, gross GST collections grew 8.4% to ₹6.32 lakh crore.
