GST Collections Reflect Strong Economic Activity

GST collections in the country continue to maintain a steady growth momentum. In February, total GST revenues reached ₹1.83 lakh crore, marking an 8.1 percent increase compared to the same month last year. The growth was primarily driven by higher domestic transactions and a rise in imports.

GST collections from domestic transactions amounted to ₹1.36 lakh crore, reflecting a 5.3 percent year-on-year increase over February last year. Meanwhile, revenues from import-related taxes surged by 17.2 percent to ₹47,837 crore, indicating robust activity in international trade.

GST refunds during the month rose by 10.2 percent to ₹22,595 crore. After adjusting for refunds, the net GST collections for February stood at ₹1.61 lakh crore.
