

US-headquartered IT major Cognizant has announced large-scale hiring plans in India, with the company set to recruit 24,000 to 25,000 fresh graduates this year. This marks an increase of nearly 20% compared to the 20,000 freshers hired last year. Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S. stated that the company has been steadily increasing fresher hiring every year higher in 2024 compared to the previous year, with further growth planned in the current year as well. The company’s overall workforce has also expanded. Compared to September last year, Cognizant’s net employee count increased by 1,800 by December, taking the total global headcount to 351,600.
On the financial front, Cognizant reported solid growth. For the fourth quarter (Q4) ended December in the last financial year, the company posted a year-on-year net profit growth of 18.7%, reaching $648 million. Revenue for the quarter rose 4.9% to $5.333 billion. For the full financial year, Cognizant’s revenue grew 7% to $21.10 billion. Looking ahead, the company has projected revenue for the 2026 financial year to be in the range of $22.14 billion to $22.66 billion, indicating a growth of 4.9% to 7.4%.
