Gold and silver prices witnessed a sharp decline in the domestic bullion market. According to market experts, the fall is attributed to the impact of global market trends, a stronger US dollar, and profit booking by investors. As a result, the price of 24-carat gold dropped by ₹5,020 per 10 grams to ₹1,54,420. Similarly, 22-carat gold also saw a decline of ₹4,600 per 10 grams, trading at ₹1,41,550.
Silver prices also registered a significant fall. The price of silver declined by ₹20,000 per kilogram, reaching the ₹3 lakh mark. After a prolonged period of rising prices that kept buyers cautious, the recent correction is expected to revive interest in jewellery purchases, traders said. However, experts cautioned that prices may continue to remain volatile in the coming days due to ongoing fluctuations in international markets.
Note: Gold and silver prices fluctuate frequently based on market conditions. It is therefore advised to verify the latest rates before making any purchase.
